Five Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Crash in City of Industry

The California Highway reports reports that a five car collision on the 60 freeway sent three people to the hospital with "moderate to critical injuries" on September 30, 2015.  The accident occurred in the westbound lanes just west of Crossroads Parkway. The injured parties were transported via ambulance and hospitalized.  As a result several lanes were shut down and a Sig Alert was issued by CHP.

My Analysis:  The 60 freeway (along with the 10 and 210) carries a huge volume of east-west traffic everyday.  With 6-8 lanes in either direction all traveling at upwards of 60-80 m.p.h. with "stop and go" conditions typifies commutes on this thoroughfare.  It only takes a split second error in judgment to cause these multi-vehicle accidents.  In my opinion as a San Gabriel Valley accident and injury attorney, the legal cause of most of these incidents can be traced to the following vehicle Codes:

California Vehicle Code 22350 - "Basic Speed Law":  traveling too fast for traffic conditions, weather, light, visibility and other factors is a common contributor to these crashes.

CVC 22107:   Making an unsafe lane change without properly checking side and rear view mirrors, making sure other vehicles in adjacent lanes are a safe distance away, and signaling prior to changing lanes is another, major factor.

  1. Heavy traffic and split-second errors make the 60 Freeway especially dangerous. When multi-vehicle crashes impact pedestrians, understanding vehicle codes matters. Pre-Settlement Funding for Pedestrian Accidents can help victims manage expenses while attorneys establish liability and pursue fair compensation.
